Lori Cloninger Sweeney has worked in development for more than 40 years with experiences ranging from her undergraduate alma mater, Whitworth University, to Claremont McKenna College to a prep school in Brentwood, California, to Oregon State and OHSU Foundations and Providence Foundations of Oregon. Lori holds a M.Ed. from UCLA.
Lori has raised major and principal gifts, typically at least $5 million per year, makes visits to one-third of the qualification prospects she is assigned each year and invites almost every donor prospect she visits to consider a bequest. She is a native Oregonian who knows the broad landscape of fundraising in this region and is enthusiastic about development. She is the proud mother of an engineer in his 20s who helps with the website and from whom she negotiated lifelong tech support. Lori is married to Jeff, who helps her keep balance in her life.
